Professional background
Laurent Ferreira started his career at Bankers Trust, where he worked for two years. He then joined National Bank in 1998. Over the years, he held several senior management positions, including Senior Manager, then Executive Vice-President and Managing Director of Derivatives and Equities within the Financial Markets group. From 2018 to 2021, he was Executive Vice-President and Co-Head, Financial Markets.
He currently serves on the Boards of Directors for the Groupe CH and the Business Council of Canada. He also served on the Board of Directors of Hydro-Québec for several years. Laurent Ferreira is actively involved in the community and supports various causes. He has notably co-chaired fundraising campaigns for Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital, the Montreal Women’s Y Foundation, and the Centraide United Way Campaign for Greater Montreal. He currently co-chairs the Grow Beyond Campaign for the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation.
Laurent Ferreira has a Master's degree in Finance from HEC Montréal and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Université du Québec à Montréal.

Researchers at the IRCM, grouped around 4 major themes, are working to deepen our knowledge of almost all the major diseases of our time: cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular, genetic or inflammatory diseases, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, to name but a few. Physicians at the IRCM Clinic care for patients living with complex or rare diseases that require ultra-specialized follow-up.
