Professional background
Winner of the CEO of the Year award from the newspaper Les Affaires in 2023, she was named the following year to the list of Canada's 100 Most Powerful Women (WXN). Since 2024, she has served as a director on the board of the Conseil du patronat du Québec (CPQ). She also accepted a seat on the board of the Quebec Cancer Foundation last October.

Holding a DEC in Marketing, a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, and a DESS in Accounting from HEC Montréal, she gained her accounting and entrepreneurial experience in the banking and restaurant sectors. A quick learner, observing employer/employee relationships and constantly improving her processes, she has been able to define her own values and those of her companies.

In 2013, convinced she could lead a business, she co-founded Signalisation de Ville (SDV) with her spouse. Without funds, premises, equipment, or employees, she managed to secure her first contracts in her very first year. Determined, courageous, and always in control, she took calculated risks and brilliantly met the challenges of her growth. By acquiring Signalisation STP in 2022, Marilyne demonstrated that her company was built to last. Ten years after its creation, the company now employs over 300 people and is a leading player in its sector. Thanks to sustained growth, the company is among the top 50 SMEs in Quebec in both 2025 and 2024, and among the fastest-growing companies in Canada (The Globe and Mail).

In January 2024, SDV moved to its new headquarters in Terrebonne, a $15 million project that will create more than 50 new jobs by 2027.

The company
Founded in 2014 on Montreal's North Shore by Marilyne Vallières and Jimmy Girard, two visionary entrepreneurs determined to stand out in the industry, Signalisation de Ville (SDV) quickly established itself as a leader in Quebec's signage sector. Thanks to its commitment to innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction, the company has experienced remarkable growth, earning the trust of its clients and business partners. Today, SDV is recognized for its expertise and continues to grow, playing a key role in signage and safety projects on construction sites.
