Éric Lachance

President and Chief Executive Officer

Éric Lachance will be available to meet on the following dates:
Thursday, May 22, 9:00 am to 12:00 am
Friday, May 23, 9:00 am to 12:00 am

Professional background
Éric Lachance joined Énergir in 2017 and has acted as President and CEO since January 2020. Committed to the energy transition, Éric Lachance thinks of energy not as a product, but as a service that must best meet various needs, including moving towards a lower-carbon economy.  For Mr. Lachance, the transformation of the energy world over the next 20 years will be a source of challenges that will require creativity and adaptability.

Previously, Mr. Lachance worked for the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ), notably in Paris, as Regional Director - Europe, where he headed the team responsible for managing the monitoring and valuation of CDPQ's European infrastructure investment portfolio. As part of his duties, he represented the Caisse on the boards of directors and supervisory boards of several companies, including Fluxys Belgium, Colonial Pipeline, Keolis and Heathrow Airport.

The company
Énergir is a diversified energy company whose mission is to meet the increasingly sustainable energy needs of its 540,000 customers and the communities it serves in Quebec and Vermont. As Quebec's leading natural gas distributor, Énergir innovates to accelerate the energy transition while promoting the quality of life of its communities, employees and partners.

In particular, but not exclusively, Éric Lachance would like to meet suppliers of goods and services with mature practices in terms of diversity, equity and inclusion, as well as suppliers from aboriginal communities. On the services side, suppliers offering more targeted than general services are his priority.

Expenses related to this virtual initiative are minimal. Nearly all revenues generated are donated to the IRCM Foundation, whose mission is to support basic and clinical research at the Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal (IRCM)

Researchers at the IRCM, grouped around 4 major themes, are working to deepen our knowledge of almost all the major diseases of our time: cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular, genetic or inflammatory diseases, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, to name but a few. Physicians at the IRCM Clinic care for patients living with complex or rare diseases that require ultra-specialized follow-up.
