A long-standing friend of the IRCM and its Foundation, Alain Masse has served on the Foundation's Board of Directors and as Honorary Chairman of its annual Gala for several years. As President of UAP, he takes his role as a committed corporate citizen to heart. Under his leadership, the company also supports causes such as Rêves d'enfants, Opération Enfant Soleil, Cœur + AVC and food banks. |

Expenses related to this virtual initiative are minimal. Nearly all revenues generated are donated to the IRCM Foundation, whose mission is to support basic and clinical research at the Institut de recherches cliniques de Montréal (IRCM).
Researchers at the IRCM, grouped around 4 major themes, are working to deepen our knowledge of almost all the major diseases of our time: cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular, genetic or inflammatory diseases, Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, to name but a few. Physicians at the IRCM Clinic care for patients living with complex or rare diseases that require ultra-specialized follow-up.

“I've been hospitalized hundreds of times for a rare disease called hereditary angioedema. This disease causes unpredictable episodes of swelling of various parts of the body, including the face, throat, stomach, heart and brain. Several members of my family also suffer from this disease.
We are followed by IRCM researchers and doctors. Thanks to them, we have a care protocol adapted to our situation, and since then, the frequency of my crises has dropped drastically. I'm also participating in a research project to better understand this disease and advance knowledge. Without the IRCM, it would be impossible for me to lead a life that allows me to be as active as I wish."
